The Constitution for the
NATIONAL ABORIGINAL COMMUNITY CONTROLLED HEALTH ORGANISATION (ratified 15 November 2011)
The Constitution (previously known as the Memorandum and Articles of Association) was originally approved in 1993 at the time of incorporation of NACCHO. It has been modified a number of times since then. A new constiution was adopted on 16 November 2010 at the NACCHO AGM.
It contains a statement of the position of NACCHO on a wide range of issues ranging from Aboriginal Dental Health and Aboriginal Women's Health to the Amelioration of Poverty in Aboriginal Communities and the Advancement of Aboriginal Religion. For ease of access these have been reproduced as a series of NACCHO policy statements that can be found in the Policy section of the website.
In addition it specifies who may be a member, how to become a member, how the Board is to be constituted and its roles and responsibilities. |
