We are very excited to announce that AHCWA and NACCHO have developed a new practical handbook for clinicians working in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (with huge congratulations to AHCWA for their amazing work on this).Â
Â
This resource is a go-to guide for navigating the Sector with confidence, covering:Â
- cultural securityÂ
- the Australian health systemÂ
- clinical processes and referralsÂ
- funding, MBS, and medicinesÂ
- public health and more.Â
The ACCHS Clinicians’ Handbook supports clinicians to deliver culturally safe, holistic care from day one. It has been designed for GPs entering the ACCHS Sector, International Medical Graduates, and new and existing ACCHS clinicians to: Â
- understand community-controlled careÂ
- build cultural capabilityÂ
- navigate systems, services, and supportsÂ
- deliver better outcomes for Aboriginal people and communitiesÂ
AHCWA have created a version that contains WA-specific information, as well as editable versions (either fillable PDF file, or InDesign file) where these areas can be easily adapted by affiliates and members to their local context.Â
Â
All versions can currently be accessed on the NACCHO LMS. Please share the link with others in your organisation and member services!
