Memorandum of Understanding with NACCHO and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP)
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between NACCHO and the RACGP on 6 November 2019 at NACCHO’s Annual Members’ Conference. This MoU further strengthens the working relationship for nearly two decades and aims to achieve shared commitments between NACCHO and the RACGP in improving health outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
NACCHO and the RAGCP will continue to advocate that the Australian healthcare system is appropriately structured and resourced to enable all health professionals to provide clinically and culturally appropriate continuity of care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
The work includes developing the standards, guidelines, funding models and resources to equip general practitioners, health professionals and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) to maximise health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The MoU arrangement will be reviewed by both parties every five years.
