ABOUT US

Gateway Health is a community health service providing health and welfare services to individuals, families and communities across Northeast Victoria and parts of Southern New South Wales. We are a not-for-profit Company limited by guarantee and a registered Community Health Service under the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic).

The organisation employs over 380 staff providing a range of primary health and community services across the Ovens Murray region in Northeast Victoria and parts of Southern New South Wales. Gateway Health serves all people and is committed to improving individual and population health outcomes. We do this by providing health care and support to individuals and communities in times of need, and by actively working with our partners to address the social and environmental determinants of health.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the OHS and Facilities Coordinator at Gateway Health, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, functionality and compliance of our workplaces and assets. Based in Wodonga and reporting to the Chief People and Capability Officer, you’ll lead and coordinate the infrastructure, procurement, fleet and Occupational Health & Safety functions across the organisation.

Your focus will include developing and maintaining systems, policies and procedures to meet legislative and organisational requirements; overseeing building and fleet maintenance; managing contractors; and championing a positive, proactive safety culture. You’ll also provide day-to-day support and leadership to a dedicated team, ensuring our facilities and systems effectively support our staff and services.

This role is based in Wodonga, but will require regular visits to our other sites in Wangaratta, Shepparton, Benalla and Myrtleford. Working full-time, you will have the option to work 76h/fortnight or 80h/fortnight with an RDO each month.

This is an opportunity to work within a values-driven, community-focused organisation, making a real difference to the safety and wellbeing of staff and the people we serve.

ABOUT YOU

You are an organised and solutions-focused professional who thrives in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. You will bring to the role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, Workplace Safety or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Solid understanding of OHS legislation, risk management, and safety management systems
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating facilities, contractors and building maintenance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels

If you’re passionate about safety, operational excellence and supporting a healthy workplace, we’d love to hear from you.
