New Cancer Care Program Supporting Yarrabah Community Members and Families Every Step of the Way

Gurriny Yealamucka is happy to unveil its new Cancer Care Program supported by NACCHO — a dedicated, community-focused initiative designed to support Yarrabah community members and families through every stage of the cancer journey.

From helping community members get to appointments, understand their care and stay connected to services… to supporting families during what can be a challenging time — this program is about making sure no one has to walk that journey alone.

Through yarning circles, local education and culturally grounded approaches, the team is also working to shift the conversation — encouraging early detection and showing that cancer, when found early and supported properly, can be managed and lived with.

“We are here to walk beside you, with care, culture and compassion.” – Program coordinator Patrick Sinha
