  • HEO7, Base Salary $108,608 – $118,324 + 17% superannuation

The University of Sydney Business School is a global leader in business and management education. The Indigenous Strategy & Services team within the Business School is seeking a Senior Project Officer to primarily work with two project teams who were successful in their funding application for the One Sydney Many people (OSMP) strategic implementation 2023-2024. The Senior Project Officer provides general project management advice and operational support to project teams.

 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

 

  • coordinate the implementation and delivery of activities and tasks in order to meet established milestones and deliverables for a program of strategic projects related to embedding
  • provide knowledge and assistance to the project teams to support engagement with stakeholders and communities
  • will manage stakeholders and communications, ensuring effective collaboration and teamwork with other teams and stakeholders across the University and external partners.

 

About you

 

  • are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, in accordance with the University of Sydney Confirmation of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Identity Policy
  • demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities, as appropriate to the position; and
  • demonstrate the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • tertiary qualifications and/or relevant work experience, preferably in project management and administration
  • ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that arise as part of normal daily work
  • accuracy, attention to detail and highly organised. Planning, analysis and communication skills together with the ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage numerous and varied demands
  • effective managing a diverse group of key stakeholders on large or complex projects and the ability to develop/ cultivate productive relationships with industry providers and key users
  • excellent administrative skills, coupled with a general understanding of the project life cycle, project documentation, project standards and methodologies
  • excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with matters
