Wuchopperen is a Community Controlled Aboriginal Health Organisation providing holistic health care services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of Cairns.

 

Full Time, Fixed term until 30 June 2025 (2 Positions)

Based in Cairns

Salary $93,858 – $98,111

 

The Aftercare Worker will work in the Culture Care Connect program which brings together key streams of suicide prevention, planning, coordination, and activity across the network regions, including raising awareness, early prevention, crisis management and aftercare services.

The successful applicant will hold a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care and Mental Health qualifications or equivalent training and/or experience. Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is highly desirable.

To be eligible for interview, applicants must:

  • Provide a cover letter of no more than two pages, addressing the Core Capabilities in the Position Description
  • Provide an Identified Reference
  • Hold AHPRA registration or a current Blue Card (for suitability to work with children and young people)
  • Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (at least first 2 vaccinations plus one booster) and provide evidence
  • Possess a current driver’s licence
