The Opportunity

As the newĀ Clinical Services Manager, you will be a pivotal part of our executive team, reporting directly to the CEO. This role is about leading and managing our clinical health care services to ensure they meet the needs of Aboriginal clients, respecting their cultural identity and social circumstances.

You’ll manage our clinic team, ensuring optimal healthcare delivery. Your leadership will be instrumental in guiding our nursing and allied health staff, fostering a quality-focused environment, and maintaining high clinical standards. This role requires a blend of clinical expertise and administrative acumen, with a focus on quality care and effective resource management.

About You

As the incomingĀ Clinical Services ManagerĀ at OVAHS, your expertise in healthcare management, especially within Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, will be pivotal. You’ll bring a deep understanding of the health challenges in Aboriginal communities, and your passion for impactful healthcare will drive our mission forward.

WithĀ over 5 years of nursing or other clinical practice experience, you’ll lead our clinical team with a focus on high standards and culturally sensitive care. Your skills in conflict resolution and quality management will ensure effective, patient-centered services. As a resident in Kununurra, you’ll immerse in and respect the local culture.

Essential:

  • Proven leadership in health settings, with a focus on Aboriginal health
  • Interest or willingness to deepen understanding of Aboriginal cultural safety
  • Strong clinical, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work under varied conditions, including outreach visits

Desirable:

  • Active AHPRA registration; candidates with no active registration but has robust post-graduate clinical experience, are still welcome to apply
  • Background in primary health care and other relevant health programs
  • Regional and/or remote healthcare experience

In this role, you’ll be instrumental in enhancing health services, honoring Aboriginal culture, and leading our team towards excellence in healthcare delivery.

This role comes with anĀ attractive salary package circa $120,000Ā (evaluated on current registration status)Ā plus superĀ and a range of great benefits, including:

  • Salary packaging up to $15,900 + a $2,640 entertainment and meal card
  • Relocation support + accommodation for you and your familyĀ 
  • 2 weeks of additional leave over the Christmas/New Year break
  • Annual flight allowance of $1,800Ā (paid at the end of 12 months continual service)

About Kununurra

Home of the Miriwoong people and gateway to Western Australia’s magnificent Kimberley region, Kununurra is a thriving community supported by various industries and is surrounded by rugged bushland that creates its own beauty!
