About the organisation

Biripi Aboriginal Corporation Medical Centre provides a wide range of culturally appropriate health and wellbeing services covering communities across the mid-northern NSW region. These include Clinical, Maternal Health, Aged Care, Community Health and Dental Health services from facilities around Taree and statutory Out of Home Care (OOHC) through Biripi Aboriginal Children Services (BACS) in Taree and Walanbaa Gaayili in Inverell.

 

About the role

Reporting to the Executive Health and Wellbeing, the Dentist will be responsible for managing and assisting in the provision of oral health services to improve oral health outcomes for Aboriginal people.

 

The Dentist will monitor local Aboriginal oral health issues and needs and will provide expert advice and action plans where appropriate. This role will provide senior experience and leadership to the dental team and will provide practice oversight as outline in the NSW Dentist Act 2001.

About you

You are a supportive and understanding leader with prior experience as a Public Health or Aboriginal Medical Service Dentist. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and a strong ability to build strong connections with the local community and key stakeholders. You will be passionate about using your expertise in dental health to improve Aboriginal health outcomes.

Selection Criteria 

  1. Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in a range of dental procedures in accordance with the Dental Practice Act 2001
  2. Demonstrated experience building relationships with health service agencies, non-government organisations, community groups and medical professionals at all levels.
  3. Sound knowledge of public health and Aboriginal dental health
  4. Proven leadership capabilities and ability to provide practice oversight to Dental/Oral Health Therapists
  5. You will be suitably qualified and hold current registration as a Dentist with the Dental Board of Australia.

What we can offer you

  • Permanent, fulltime opportunity.
  • Remuneration Package up to $205,000 gross salary per annum, plus 10.5% Superannuation.
