There are two positions, one to be based in Newcastle and the other in Tamworth. Successful candidates will join a close-knit group of professionals, both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal, who work as part of the HNE New Street Service and HNE Sparks Services, who are passionate about providing early intervention and trauma informed care and culturally safe care to children and young people who have demonstrated problematic or harmful sexualised behaviour (PHSB), and their families.

About the role:
These positions will provide vital clinical leadership to the new Pathways to Safety and Support Pilot Service (PSSP). PSSP is a DCJ funded, NGO led service that will establish a new referral, triage and support service for children and young people (aged 0-17 years) with and harmed by PHSB and their families and care givers. These positions will and provide clinical expertise, advice and support to DCJ and the NGO provider in the establishment and implementation of the new centralised referral pathway, that is PSSP. Supporting the NGO to provide culturally safe responses is also a key responsibility of these roles.

These roles provide an exciting opportunity to have direct input into new service design and make positive system wide improvements to the way the needs of children and young people with PHSB, and those impacted by PHSB are met.

Successful applicants will be supported by a comprehensive orientation and training program, as well as high quality and regular clinical supervision. These roles will be tightly connected with the New Street Service, Sparks Services and the wider Violence, Abuse and Neglect Network in HNELHD.
