Thank you to Northern Territory PHN for hosting the 2026 COMPASS Forum. AMSANT enjoyed the two-day conference, including celebrating the 2026 NTPHN Health Professional of the Year Awards.
The Workforce and Leadership support team joined representatives from Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Aboriginal Corporation, Danila Dilba Health Service and Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation to share the successes and challenges of implementing Shared Medical Appointments across diverse service settings. The presentation highlighted how community-led, culturally responsive care can improve engagement, health literacy and health outcomes for Aboriginal communities.
We were also honoured to have AMSANT CEO Donna Ah Chee deliver a keynote address on the vital role Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services play in building a strong, culturally safe and sustainable health system.
As sponsor of the AMSANT Aboriginal Health Practitioner/Worker of the Year Award, Donna was proud to present the award to Ashton Guyula from Miwatj Health.
Congratulations to Ashton and all our member services and staff recognised across multiple award categories. These achievements reflect the dedication, expertise and leadership of the Aboriginal community-controlled health sector workforce.
